University of South Australia (UniSA) is a world-class institution built on more than 150 years of teaching, learning and research excellence. With more than 36,000 students, the university is South Australia’s largest and was ranked 11th in Australia – and in the top three percent of more than 10,000 universities worldwide – in the 2011 QS World University Rankings. UniSA has a strong international presence in teaching and learning, as well as an increasing global research profile.

Business challenge

Managing the human resource requirements of an iconic and progressive education institution presents a number of unique challenges to the UniSA HR team. One such challenge UniSA’s HR department faced prior to partnering with Acendre, was how to consistently manage the function of recruitment across the entire organisation. With the need to manage recruitment of both academic and professional staff across a wide variety of departments and faculties, UniSA needed to consider how it would create more uniformity in its HR processes through the application of any new solution.

Partnering with Acendre

UniSA had implemented Acendre’s recruitment management system, JobOffice. After three years of using the system, it was decided that the next step forward would be to move to Acendre Recruitment. After lengthy consultation with fellow Australian tertiary institutions already using Acendre Recruitment, including the Western Sydney University and Queensland University of Technology, it was decided Acendre Recruitment would be the most suitable fit for UniSA’s HR environment and organisational needs, and UniSA went live with Acendre Recruitment.
